Bob Barton comes from a long line of financial advisors, insurers and realtors. In 1910, the Barton Agency was founded in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. It even owned a Savings and Loan at one point in its history. Bob continued the tradition of serving the public by helping clients meet their financial and insurance needs. He joined the
Kades-Margolis’ family in 1997.
Raised in Bloomsburg, Bob began his early career in the insurance and real estate industry by clerking at the courthouse for his grandfather, while still in high school. Bob eventually owned several real estate offices in multiple counties. He furthered his passion for insurance when he became a member of the Kades-Margolis’ team as a Financial Advisor, specializing in the retirement and financial plans of public school employees and their families.
Well versed in the Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS), Bob is a wealth of knowledge and helps navigate his clients toward planning for rewarding retirements. He speaks at events often throughout the year with his wife, Anne, also a Kades-Margolis’ Financial Advisor. They share their insights about the retirement system and its many nuances.
Bob is a Registered Representative of GWN Securities Inc., an independent registered broker-dealer. Through his registration, he can offer variable annuities and mutual funds. As a full-service advisor, he has the knowledge and experience to help his clients identify their needs and provide appropriate solutions. Bob also has a strong background in life insurance and long-term care insurance, and he is separately licensed in both.
Bob is married to Anne and has been working with her for over 20 years. They have a daughter, Sloane. Anne and Bob enjoy supporting and attending Sloane’s many school and sporting events. Sloane has had a very successful field hockey career that includes six consecutive championships. She was a captain of her field hockey and track teams, of which Bob served as a volunteer track coach. He also enjoyed coaching her in little league softball and basketball.
When he is not out running, Bob enjoys lifting weights or taking his mother-in-law for a few holes of golf. He also enjoys making wine and entertaining friends. He is greatly anticipating watching his daughter, Sloane, continue her field hockey career, while majoring in Business at Susquehanna University this fall.
